Beaded Chain Bracelet
Supplies
72 7mm faceted glass beads
12 2" eye pins or 2 1/2" head pins
24 1" head pins
1 1/2" by 3/4" fold over claps w/connectors
4 6mm jump rings
2 7" lengths of heavy 5mm chain
1) If you are using 2 1/2" head pins go ahead and cut off the head and use your round nose pliers to make a loop at the end of each of the 12 head pins. Use your flat nose pliers to close the loops.
2) Place one bead on the eye pin. Now run the eye pin through the 5th link of the chain.
3) Add two more beads and run the pin through the 5th link of the other chain.
4) Add one more bead. Then cut the pin 3/8" beyond the bead. Take your round nose pliers and roll the pin into a loop. Use your flat nose pliers to close the loop tight.
5) Move over five links from the first row of beads and repeat steps 2, 3, and 4.
6) Keep moving over five links adding more rows of beads until you have twelve rows.
7) Take a 1" head pin and add a bead. Cut the pin to where it extends about 3/8" beyond the bead. Take your round nose pliers and roll the end of the head pin into a loop. Do not close the loop. Make twenty-four of these.
8)Take a single bead with a loop and hook it on to the loop of one of the rows of beads. Use your flat nose pliers to close the single bead loop onto the loop at the end of the bead row.
9) Contine step 8 until each of the twelve rows of beads have a bead dangling from each end
10) Make sure the two chain lengths are even and the the last link of the chain lays the same direction as the loops in the clasp. (You probably want 3 to 5 links beyond the last row of beads depending on how large you want the bracelet). Open a jump ring and hook it to the last link in the chain and the loop for the clasp. Use your flat nose pliers to close the jump ring. Repeat this step until all four links of the chain are connected to the clasp.
11) Your finished bracelet should look something like this. If the bracelet is too large you can remove some links if you left five links at each end. If not you can remove a row of beads. Just make the number of chain links between the clasp and rows of beads is the same on both sides.
