6 8mm crystal cube beads
6 2" gold head pins or
4 7/8" head pins and
2 7/8" eye pins
3" small gold chain
2 gold ear wires
Kits Available in nine colors
Step 1) Take four head pins and four cube beads. Insert the head pins into the beads and cut the pins about 3/8" beyond the beads. Take your round nose pliers and make a loop. Grasp the top of the pin with your round nose pliers. Place your thumb against the pin and roll the pliers away from you. Do not close the loops. Fig 1.
Step 2) Take the last two head pins and cut off the heads. Make a loop at one end and close it. Note* You will open the loop later. Fig 2.
Step 3) Take the last two beads and run your eye pins through them. Cut the pins about 3/8" beyond the beads. Now take your pliers and roll the tip into a loop. Fig 3.
Step 4) Cut four pieces of chain. Cut two ½" pieces and two ¾" pieces. I have found the easiest way to cut the chains the exact length is to cut your first piece and then run pins through both pieces of chain and cut the chain at the link below the bottom pin. Fig 4.
Step 5) Take the four beads with the open loop at one end and run each loop through the bottom link of each chain and close the loops. Fig 5.
Step 6) Add the beads with two loops to the ear wires. Just slide the open loop on the bead into the ring of the ear wire. Come back with your flat nose pliers and close and center the loop. When making the second one run the loop through the opposite direction. (ex. Both open sides of the loops facing
each other ). This assures that both
earrings will lay the same. Fig 6.
Step 7) Open the loops at the bottom of the beads that you just added to the ear wires. Take the ½" chain and bead and slide it on the loop and then add the ¾" chain and bead and close the loop. Use the same steps to finish the other earring. Fig 7.
Your finished earrings should look something like this!
